Venues for Great Wedding Photography in Suffolk & Essex

I thought it might be useful to jot down some of my favourite venues for wedding photography here in Suffolk and Essex.

One of the joys of being a photographer is that you get to visit lots of places and, of course, we all have favourites.

It's not just the location to consider, a good photographer will always get you good images - it's the people running the venue that can make all the difference to your day.

A successful day relies upon teamwork between people that are not necessarily connected. As a photographer I'm usually working to strict time-lines and have to fit in with hotel staff doing their jobs. It is very noticeable where the staff are properly organized and motivated.

Where this happens, you can bet that the couple's day will be stress-free and as planned.

By the way, my "favourites" are simply that and are not part of any affiliate scheme.

I'm just sharing my experience of places where I've photographed some really lovely weddings in the past. You need to do your own homework but the places mentioned here have consistently outmatched people's expectations.

Priory Hall - Hadleigh

Priory Hall Hadleigh IP7 5AZ Holbrook Studios This lovely old Tudor Hall rates highly with me - it has extensive well cared-for gardens and lots of places for couples to be photographed unobtrusively. Great place to work and very helpful staff.

Hintlesham Hall Hotel IP8 3NS Holbrook Studios High on personal service, this is another highly rated venue that I have had the pleasure to work at. Lots of locations to really express yourself.

Haughley Park Barn - near Stowmarket


Away from the maddening crowd, this is another location that has much to offer. If you like modern garden art, put Haughley Park Barns on your short list!
